Indian Collection Rawat Gokul Das at the Singh Sagar 1806 55 x 80 cm Gouache with gold and silver on paper. Bakhta was one of the most original Rajasthani artists of his period. His view of the Singh Sagar (lake) shows a typically energetic treatment of the landscape and contains many minutely observed scenes of the Rawat, his ladies and retinue, and the animals and birds around the lake. Gokul Das appears four times, most prominently in the foreground where he shoots waterfowl with his uncle and a courtier.
