Notes: The painting is illustrated in black and white in a photograph of Hodgkin’s studio which appears in the Gagosian exhibition catalogue for the exhibition Howard Hodgkin, Gagosian Gallery, New York, 8 November – 20 December 2003 and Los Angeles, 10 January – 14 February 2004, ill. colour, p.86. The photograph also appears as the frontispiece in Howard Hodgkin: Small Paintings, Galerie Lutz & Thalmann, Zurich, 2005. It is also the title of a book by Agatha Christie.
